"Outstanding!" Ofsted July 2014.
Rap essentially is poetry to rhythm. So, if you can write raps, you are a poet.
For inspiration pupils will rap rhythmic poems and rhyming stories such as 'The Gruffalo,' 'Tummy Beast' and even Shakespeare for older pupils.
Pupils will then write and perform their own poems to live hip-hop beats created by the pupils on loop devices.
Rap can also be used to remember punctuation, spelling, values, mental maths, languages and the qualities needed to succeed.
It's a language children and youth can understand and relate to.
It's a fun and fast medium for learning.
